Well, here it
is! The last day of school! There is
probably no happier day for a student with
the exception of graduation day. We wish
our best to our graduating 8th
graders. Our hope for them is that they
have a successful future and remain close to
the Lord. I’m sure that
our seventh
grade will be up to the challenge of
leadership in August.
It is with
profound sadness that I must report the
departure of two members of our SSPP staff.
Fr. Aloy has been transferred to St. Paul in
Highland. We thank him for touching our
lives in his special way these past three
years. May God bless him as he continues
his priestly ministry. Mrs. Brandy LaDrew
will also not be returning to SSPP next
year. Sadly, a decrease in enrollment has
forced a right-sizing of faculty. Mrs.
LaDrew has served as a teacher for eight
years in fourth and first grade. We will
miss her enthusiasm and zeal. I hope you
will all join me in wishing her the best in
her future.
Our school continues to face
many challenges with each passing year. Our
staff continues
to be flexible in meeting the
needs of the students. Contracts for next
have been offered. Staff assignments will
be set after the contracts are returned. As
of today, our enrollment
is down from last year. We
will welcome a number of new families to our
school community next year. Thanks for all
that you do for SSPP!
You can look in the mail for
a packet from school the last week of June.
Please fill out the packet and return to
school before August 4th. Fast
Direct will be open most of the summer.
Please update your parent information.
Open House will be held on
Thursday, August 14thfrom
6:30-8:00. You may visit the classroom,
bring supplies, and familiarize your student
with their room. Homeroom teachers will
contact you in August to set up interviews.
These interviews are an important
beginning to the school
year. It is a good time to address any
concerns for the upcoming year.
Once again, a large number of
SSPP alumni graduated with honors from
Collinsville High School. Congratulations
to them on continuing a tradition of
excellence at SSPP.
May God bless all of you with
a restful and safe summer season. See you
in August!
Principal for a Day Notes
We had fun going to visit Fr.
John and Fr. Aloy’s office today. Mr.
Palmer took us to lunch at McDonald’s (The
real principal doesn’t eat there every
day.). We took the new Reading books to
the teachers and we gave our classes a dress
down day. We also did the announcements,
but we made sure that we got recess-just
like Mr. Palmer.

School 4 Me
Catholic
School 4 Me has planned, studied, met and
prayed over building a new Catholic
High School
in Southern Madison County for a few years
now. Now they need you! We are looking for
volunteers to staff a booth at the SSPP
Homecoming Picnic for a few hours each day
from open to 7:00 p.m. VOLUNTEERING
WOULD NOT FULFILL YOUR HIP HOURS
HOWEVER, THE TASK IS EASY. The goal is
go get the word out about Catholic School 4
Me and the
new high school, by handing out fliers and
balloons. Please Fast Direct Chris McGovern
or Amy Mersinger if interested.
