Registration 2011-2012

Dear Parents,

I would like to extend to you a personal reminder to register for the 2011-2012 school year.  Our staff does an excellent job preparing our students for further academic endeavors.  It is my hope that you will continue to choose Ss. Peter and Paul School as the place to continue your child’s education.

The estimated cost to educate for next year will be $5500 per student.  The “cost to educate” is the school budget divided by the enrollment.  If you have one child, tuition covers 53% of the cost to educate.  If you have more than one child, the tuition covers even less of that cost. The parish subsidy generously covers over 40% percent of the cost.  Fundraising completes the total.

I realize that many of you have been affected by the current financial climate.  Your financial uncertainty translates to the parish and school.  Donations and tithes have not kept pace with the rising costs and needs of the parish and school. The school board recently approved a tuition increase that does not totally cover an increase in salaries for the staff. The book fee will remain at $215 per student (the same as last year).

In order to qualify for the parish scholarship, the board has suggested that each family tithe a minimum of $10 a week.  A set of parish envelopes will be provided, if you currently do not use them.  We recommend that you designate the $10 for the school’s Annual Fund, since every cent goes to the school.  The board is also suggesting that each family sell (or buy) 2 Big Bucks tickets or make an equal donation to the school’s Annual Fund.  The mandatory shift at the Parish Homecoming remains in effect.  These three items will be reviewed after the first semester to determine compliance.

Our staff can help you instill proper Catholic values in your child.  We offer the chance for all of our students to participate in liturgy and explore our Catholic faith more deeply.  We have PE, computer, art, and music classes taught by certified teachers.  We also have Reading and Math specialty teachers for remedial and enrichment students.  We offer an on-site counselor.   Our school is nationally and state certified. The teachers are fully accredited and are fully committed to providing a first-rate learning environment that is steeped in faith.

Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School is certainly “A+ for America.”

Sincerely,

M. Palmer
